OBJECT: 1986.0068 – Stole Ecru
DESRIPTION: Tambour lace stole with machine applied areas.
PATTERN: Basket of roses. The roses have raised petals – other flowers. Each corner has leaf and flower pattern with raised petals.
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Spotted net appliqué in the corners; also, in the basket and wreath motif. Also, some bows. Scalloped edge. With side varying at the corner. Edge trimmed with large dots. Outer edge trimmed with picots. Dot grouping throughout.
FIBRE: Diamond net.
SIZE: 165 cm x 286 cm.
CIRCA: 1925 – 1950.
COMMENTS: Virtually no damage. One or two tiny holes. A few brown stains.
GIFT OF: Not known.
