OBJECT: 2010.0222 – Veil.
DESCRIPTION: Rectangular piece – possibly first communion veil
PATTERN: Floral and casket in two corners. Harp, shamrocks, flowers and leaves in other two corners.
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Basic heavy darn and selection of filling stitches. Scattered motifs around the edges.
FIBRE: Cotton which might have been starched. Starch will rot the veil if not removed.
SIZE: 125 cm x 137 cm.
CIRCA: 1949.
COMMENTS: In good condition. A few small holes. Minor damage,
