An antique, vintage and crafts fair took place at the Milk Market on Sunday, April 30, and Monday, May 1, 2023 as part of the Riverfest weekend. Friends of Lace were invited by the organisers to organise a pop-up Limerick Lace exhibition, a lace making demonstration and to give a talk on the past and present of Limerick lace on Monday May 1st..
The exhibition included family heirlooms as well as antique lace from the members’ personal collections, as well as pieces created by the members of the group in the last few years. Beside Limerick lace, we exhibited Carrickmacross Lace pieces, as well as Irish crochet and Shetland lace.
There was a lot of interest from the participating public. The event was also honoured with the presence of the Mayor of Limerick, Cllr. Francis Foley.
