Eva Ryley

Eva Ryley is a lacemaker, designer and teacher. She was trained in the Limerick lace tradition by Toni O’Malley, who learned the craft by attending weekly classes in the Good Shepherd Convent in Limerick as a teenager in the 1960s.

Eva has been making Limerick lace for almost 10 years, and started teaching in 2023. She has been teaching Limerick lace in various locations around Ireland.

In 2024, based on her teaching experience, she redesigned the Friends of Lace Limerick Beginner Kit and recorded a series of videos that accompany the kit.

In 2025, she revised the instruction booklet, adding more stitches.

She also recorded a series of instructional videos on Limerick lace for the Guild of Irish Lacemakers.

Eva is also teaching online Limerick lace classes through The Lace Museum in California.

As well as that, Eva Ryley is a passionate Shetland lace knitter and designer.
