OBJECT: 2001.0623 – Alb St. Mary’s.
DESCRIPTION: Top is Belfast Altar linen. Drop is Limerick Lace. Tambour.
PATTERN: Monstrance; Dove of Peace, Sacred Heart; Cross; I.H.S.; Vine leaves and grapes;
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Diamond net; Tambour needlework Pearl edge; Some Crown stitch; Knotty stitch.
FIBRE: Cotton net with cotton thread. The outline appears to be worked with four single threads. Top made in Belfast Alter Linen.
SIZE: 80 cm deep x 146 cm around x 292 circular.
COMMENTS: Very beautiful. The seam is designed to blend in with the pattern. Several holes in net.
