Talk Title: Headford Lace Project: Seven years on, by Eilís Nic Dhonncha.

Talk Summary: Headford Lace Project was founded in 2016 to research, revive and reimagine the lacemaking heritage of Headford, Co. Galway. At that time the once thriving lacemaking industry had all but been forgotten. This talk will look at what has been done under those three themes in the intervening years as well as look at future plans and dreams.

Speaker Bio: Eilís Nic Dhonncha is the chairperson of the Headford Lace Project committee. While she is a capable lacemaker, her main skills are in organisation, community development, logistics and collaboration. The committee has 10 voluntary members who all bring their experiences and expertise together to create an exciting synergy which has brought Headford lacemaking from being almost forgotten to being added to the Irish Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage in a few short years. Several committee members will be in attendance on the day to answer specific questions as required.
