DESCRIPTION: Lace taken from Alb. Very beautiful pattern. Very ornate. Diamond net. Motifs: Bow with foliage and shaded berries. Rowan berries or Grapes?
PATTERN: Scattered dots with scattered foliage.
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Machine shape Tambour. Spots done in diamond shape. FIBRE: Very fine net – silk/cotton (?) diamond net.
SIZE: 296 cm circumference x 88 cm depth of lace.
COMMENTS: Scattered damage. Some stains.

DESCRIPTION: Lace Fall from Alb – removed from fabric top.
PATTERN: Top half: Foliage sprigs with dots. Lower half: Lamb of God; I.H.S; several Caskets, with beautiful filling stitches.
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Tambour – possibly machine. Shading in tambour. Minor damage.
FIBRE: Diamond cotton net (18ʺ joined to another with a zigzag pattern). SIZE: 252 cm circumference x 101 cm.
COMMENTS: Several fine repairs – also holes in the actual pattern. Minor damage.
GIFT OF: Not known.

Small Altar Cloth with Fall
Detail from Lace Altar Cloth OBJECT: Awaiting ID – Small Altar Cloth with Fall.
DESCRIPTION: Small cotton altar cloth with three sides of Limerick Lace.
PATTERN: Tambour with filling stitches on diamond net with pearl edging.
Motifs: Chalice; I.H.S; Celtic Cross; Scared Heart with a cross at top; Bunches of Grapes; Flowers and Leaves. The net is diamond net.
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Scalloped edge with pearl edging. Tambour with some filling stitches.
FIBRE: Cotton cloth with drop of silk diamond net.
SIZE: Cloth: 109 cm x 52½ cm. Lace fall: (52½ +109 + 52½) cm x 55 cm.
COMMENTS: A few small holes in the net. Both edges have been cut to accommodate three sides of the top cotton cloth.
GIFT OF: Not known.

Stole Ecru
Stole Ecru OBJECT: 1986.0068 – Stole Ecru
DESRIPTION: Tambour lace stole with machine applied areas.
PATTERN: Basket of roses. The roses have raised petals – other flowers. Each corner has leaf and flower pattern with raised petals.
STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES: Spotted net appliqué in the corners; also, in the basket and wreath motif. Also, some bows. Scalloped edge. With side varying at the corner. Edge trimmed with large dots. Outer edge trimmed with picots. Dot grouping throughout.
FIBRE: Diamond net.
SIZE: 165 cm x 286 cm.
CIRCA: 1925 – 1950.
COMMENTS: Virtually no damage. One or two tiny holes. A few brown stains.

FIBRE: Silk material. Diamond net.
SIZE: 32 cm x 32 cm.

COMMENTS: Two small stains on the silk.

FIBRE: Cotton Net. Cotton thread. Ecru colour.
SIZE: 30.5 cm x 22 cm oval.
